He really is a piece of shit. It starts with Thiel's answer when asked "If you were leader of the world, what would you do to fix things?": I would reduce access to social security! Of all the ills in the world THAT is what he thinks needs attention. It goes on from there.

Pretty staggering and a good reminder that the tech bro/billionaire club are definitely NOT the answer to anything. Also, Rogan blows at interviewing people.

Rogan blows at... = Rogan is not very good (combative) at interviewing people, although Lee explained why he never holds people's feet to the fire later on in the video (he won't get the mega-star guests if he does).

Thiel is a horrific person. I can only imagine some of the stuff that he thinks/says in private environments.

If Rogan is the most popular, then I guess the depressing truth is that he reminds the greatest number of Americans of themselves: Great armies of low level corporate types: Traveling salespeople, people with lives in office cubicles etc., maybe some tattoos, drink a bit, can’t see really outside the matrix, suspect something may be there but don’t think too hard about it (or anything), don’t want to lose their jobs or promotions by questioning too much, so just trust their social instincts, never any growth beyond a certain stage.

He seems to perfectly mimic that: Never any growth beyond just a hint that there could be some weird shit like you sometimes see in the movies, which is “just, like weird ya know, my brother is convinced its all true, says he read up on it, I’m not sure, oh well, glad its not me.”, the end.

I wish I had to balls to just leave that as it was and trust that people would recognise it's Rogan's standard response to anything the guest introduces for the first time, be it a potential war crime by the US or the earth being flat.

That's a perfect description of him btw, especially the line at the end. I quite "like" him as a podcaster; he definitely has something that works in that format but as for content and the rest of it (the bits that really matter, including some of the hideous lunatics he platforms) yeuk.

He'd be good to watch if he was getting these people in and grilling them but obviously he wouldn't rake in the 100s of millions that he has doing that.

I agree with you about the Lowkey interview btw; one of the best I've seen from him for a while.
