Is this the same Stop the War Org that refuses to invite George Galloway and WPGB to its bashes, no doubt George being an antisemite and misogynist - maybe Novara scum Media will get an invite?

If people wish to actually stop Imperialist Wars, then maybe they'd best embrace Marist-Leninism and begin calling for an actual revolution. And, said 'REVOLUTION' cannot be peaceful, it will be bloody violent with loads of scum being Mussolined - its the only language these feckers understand, namely violence and until a suitable number of the UK population understand this truth we are doomed.

Liberalism and liberal democracy have failed, we are moving towards fascism and the peacniks think a peaceful march will change anything - it won't.

As a reminder, remember the Poll tax, only when violence was on the streets of London did the elite understand the Plebs were not happy about the Poll Tax.

Further, in the late 80's the UK still had a sizeable armed forces, by year end the UK armed forces will stand at 138K in total, whilst the police are losing members at an alarming rate - hence, who will keep the peace if violence does erupt?

I share your disdain for "Stop the War (NOT!)" but if we turn to the methods that the boss class uses against us, we become them. I prefer the tactics of the plebs in Rome against Tarquinius Superbus; excellent name not so excellent bloke.

Christ, all you need do is read what Trotsky, under Lenin's orders, did at Kronstadt to the real revolutionaries.

The Bolsheviks, incidentally, were late to the February Revolution - the real revolution, the one that overthrew the Tzar. That, incidentally was started by the 'Bread Marches' led by women. Note - marches! The very thing you are against today!

And not long after the October revolution Lenin got rid of the Factory Committees and put the bosses back in. What a change and betrayal after the heady days when the workers ejected the factory bosses by taking them out of their own factories in wheelbarrows. Literally.

Incidentally, it was police violence that triggered the poll tax riots. And it was the anarchists who fought back and defended the people not Marxist Leninists. Anarchists are the mortal enemies of Marxist Leninists. Marxist Leninists had turned up expecting a nice peaceful march. The very thing you are against today!

What next? Extoll the virtues of Stalinism?

Just look what Stalin did in destroying the Collectives in the Spanish Revolution. Lenin would have been very enthusiastic about such betrayal.

Sorry, I've got better things to be doing than talking to an authoritarian communist. Go off and preach to your gullible mates.

You make a good point; using the institutions of the state to reverse the crimes against humanity that state institutions exist to commit hasn't gone all that well, has it?

I worked it out for myself [;O)] but thanks for the biblio. I haven't read much political analysis since "The Theory and Practice of Communism" by R N Carew Hunt in the mid-70s and "The Communist Manifesto" because A. J. P. Taylor wrote the introduction (there wasn't much else to do in those dark days). The manifesto has a couple of good jokes in it though.

Could you please enlighten this 'authoritarian communist' about the actual economic conditions suffered by Tsarist Russia after it went to war with Germany/Austro-Hungary, which, if those I read are correct, were quite ghastly as of the beginning of 2017, as they were in Germany by the way!

Further, and rather simplistically, you claim peaceful protest 'the Bread Marches' led to significant change. Forgive me, but Volines account of the Bread Marches is far from peaceful, rather, the threat of violence was real and violence did indeed happen according to his account, although, said violence was with the forces of the state (as with the Poll Tax) rather than the crowd, namely, the Police were set upon by the Cossacks after inciting violence.

That said, the economic conditions were such that insurrection, be it peaceful or violent, was the reality of the day across Russia - as it was within Germany following the long Naval Blockade.

So, and, being the Marxist one is, peeps can march as much as they like across the West, the fact is, as Violence is still very much retained by the State, not much change will come about I'm afraid. Mind you, you may, just may see some crumbs thrown to the plebs 12 months before the next UK election as spineless Labour MPs ponder being on the dole - I'll not hold my breath though as the history of the West has been zero change since the 1980's.
