I remember Pinker having a cosy chat with Richard Dawkings and talking pure nonsense about this golden age of peace we are living in...the west that is, as they were both hinting at how that's not the case with other countries...the clear implication was that the other countries were middle eastern ones.
Of course, who might be causing the trouble there and starting wars there was not addressed.
There's no wars on our streets (at the moment) so it's a golden age of peace and who gives a fuck about it in far away lands.
