* Drop all non association orders * Access to all activities and courses * Heba back in HMP Bronzefield
Prisoners for Palestine Statement 23/12/25 After 48 and 49 days respectively of hunger strike, when many prisoners are facing imminent death, Qesser Zuhrah and Amu Gib now formally pause their hunger strike.
Heba Muraisi, Teuta Hoxha, Kamran Ahmed and Lewie Chiamarello will continue to refuse food on the basis of the five demands, as well as specifying their demands to include the end of all non-association orders between ON prisoners; Heba's transfer back to HMP Bronzefield; and she same access to all courses and activities as sentenced prisoners.
Non-association orders are used to further isolate prisoners from each other despite being in the same prison; just as Heba has been isolated by being moved across the country, away from her family and friends in London. Due to the extended period of time on remand, well over the usual six month legal limit, it is only fair that the prisoners are able to access the same activities as everyone else.
----
During the Christmas recess in parliament, legal action is being taken against the government as they, and prison officials, have breached their own policy by failing to engage, address, and attempt to resolve the strike.
By failing to abide by their own procedures, the government has exposed and shamed themselves even further. As Teuta Hoxha said, the hunger strike has put a mirror up to the corrupt and genocidal system which imprisons them. Whilst we will never find justice from the oppressors, we are able to expose the true face of our system to the country, and the world. We can create our own justice, just as those who take direct action do.
No matter the response of the government, the hunger strikers are victorious, due to the people rising up for them and for Palestinian liberation. Their self sacrifice has made the world rise up in righteous rage at the injustice they, and the Palestinian people, face at the hands of those in power.
----
It has brought global attention to the government's involvement in the genocide of the Palestinian people, to the extent of willingly disregarding the lives and rights of their own citizens in service of a foreign genocidal regime. Despite the best efforts of the British state, they refuse to go quietly into the night.
At a time of worsening political repression of the international movement for Palestinian liberation, this hunger strike stands as a testament to our continued defiance and is a landmark moment for all of us. They have raised the profile of their political detention to new heights, and politicised the general public to an incredible extent.
As Qesser Zuhrah said at the start of the hunger strike: "The day we began our hunger strike was the day we were victorious, because we were not seized by fear nor despair."
Prisoners For Palestine: We announce the pausing of 3 of our hunger strikers with statements
Their bravery and courage as well as sacrifice can never be forgotten.
There are still currently four individuals hunger striking at a critical point and need our support.
Statement from Amu "We have never trusted the government with our lives, and we will not start now. There will be no turkey dinner and break in the Zionist programme of genocide. We are committed to the resistance of their script, not until Christmas, but for the rest of our lives.
It must be your hands that hold and carry us, not in coffins but in actions. This British "democracy" has ignored our voices for days, for 2 years, for 45 years, for 100, for 800, and our deaths will not unstop their ears. Our hearts are the size of our fists and we must keep loving to keep fighting.
Our action must be sustained to be effective, and for that we must trust each other and the responsibility for our own futures. We will be the ones to decide how we give our lives to justice and liberation. Palestine is an ocean away, we have raised a sail, you have become the wind to catch us. We will not push beyond our limits before we push the government beyond their own. We refuse for our graves to be another 8 potholes they dodge on their pitted highway to hell. They will have to carry us with them - as thorns under their armoured sides, where we fester. With 51 strikes in 62 days, the only ceasefire is to stop their weapons"
Statement from Jon I truly hope the collective hunger strike of prisoners for Palestine has proved that it is not only worth it but also entirely necessary to dedicate every inch of one's being to our struggle.
Struggle against blood thirsty imperialism and profit hungry weapons industry. struggle for a future of liberation and justice, a future for the many, not the few.
we can reclaim control over our bodies, our time, our collective destiny. it is not easy and no one, myself very much included, can do so without making many mistakes. but it is our duty to try and try again. this hunger strike has humbled me and brought me to my limits in many ways. it has also reminded me that our struggle doesn't need individualised heroes. the movement needs all of us to show up and do everything we can to distrust oppressive structures that we benefit from. take risks. learn. sacrifice our comfort. my full heart and admiration beyond words is with my comrades still on hunger strike. many victories are possible, some already here, and we must keep fighting in one way or another. power to the hunger strikers, power to the resistance!
Statement from Qesser "On the 13th month since my forced disappearance and the 48th day of our hunger strike, I will be pausing in this Battle. Not because my body has betrayed my mind, nor my mind this struggle - but because of the betrayal of our government, who think it appropriate to "break for Christmas" while 8 of its citizens starve in their cells, while Gaza starves, and while Christmas is silenced in Bethlehem, all because of the British Government's persisting and nauseating commitment to the most unjust zionist project.
To our Government, do not release your breath, because we will certainly return to Battle you with our Empty Stomachs in the New Year, when you have shamefully returned from your blood-soaked break, to the theatrics of your 'democracy'. Our Demands however remain inescapable, and this pause is your chance to meet them, to get it right, to stop arming and aiding this genocide, otherwise you will force us to return to confront you with our breaths, which will be far more disastrous and dangerous than this first time. Our bodies will be weaker, and our deterioration much faster, but make no mistake about our determination-no, our world is much angrier! It is truly terrifying what the human being will endure, for home-a home you have illegally and so cruelly denied us as an extension of your denial of the Right to Return home of our beloved Palestinian People. This is your choice-you have witnessed how our hunger strike has mobilised this Nation and this world against you in this first phase. And it will only be worse for you if you persist in this cruelty. The Prisoners tools have certainly begun to dismantle Downing Street. So it is in your best interest now to meet the demands of your Nation.
I am truly grateful and humbled before Allah for His preservation of our lives and our health, and for the victories we have received in this first phase. The biggest victory of all has been our Resistance...
To the free people of this world, and this Nation, that have erupted in Resistance over the course of our hunger strike, we urge you also not to release your breath, because Gaza is still starving! We make these challenges to our government on the back of your struggle in these streets, and we ask you all to carry this, to fulfil our word.
We, your Prisoners, hope that our hunger strike has conveyed to your hearts the urgency of this struggle, and cemented in them the principles of the Resistance demanded of us-of sacrifice, of perseverance, and of hope. While our bodies may start to recover, we do not wish to see this placate the Resistance that has erupted-we ask you now to "persevere and endure and remain stationed, and fear Allah so that you may be successful" (Qur'an 3:200). We ask you to continue to escalate for Palestine, continue to fight for our Right to Home, continue to 'Resist' in the way that honours the word and our Martyrs-and remember the promise we have made to our beloved Palestinian People in every chant we have cried out.
Do not be deterred by the increasing authoritarian abuse of our government -in the face of their brutality, Remember Gaza, Remember Palestine! Our Demand to Shut Elbit Down is one we make of you all first, before we make it of our government, because, in the words of our Sister Manar from Gaza, "Freedom is not given but seized with determination." Remember too, that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of our beloved Palestinian People (Nelson Mandela). So do not just hold this daring front line we have now arrived at, but push it forward. And we will certainly meet you again at the frontiers of this dream very soon. We shall enter this New Year on the practice of Resistance, and the Promise of liberation. Remember finally, that victory is promised, from a Lord Most Just, Most Merciful.
Rajieen. From these Prisons to Palestine. Rajieen".
Re: Prisoners For Palestine: We announce the pausing of 3 of our hunger strikers with statements
Don't know why I do it but I checked a couple of the tabloids out on this story and the comment sections are just full of hate and a total lack of concern for these brave people who are, after all, protesting about genocide, ffs! Same with Greta, plenty of "let her rot in jail", "just another publicity stunt" and "send her to the Israelis, they know how to deal with terrorists" bollox. All a bit depressing but good to know there are more people on the side of good right now, than there were this time last year, or even last month.
"I won't dignify the attacker's words by repeating them, they are horrific and vile."
The hasbara just isn't working, so Israel's announced a quadrupling to $729 million for next year
The liberal schtick from the likes of the BBC is to lie by omission when belatedly forced to report on the hunger strike, concentrating on just one of the demands - that Palestine Action be de-proscribed, rather than the disproportionate lack of bail, excessive period of remand and the treatment of them as terrorists by the pig ignorant gaolers.
Meanwhile, Labour MP Dan Norris who is accused of extremely serious sexual offences against a child, is out on bail.
