Failed aged 19 because of a hangover. 35 years later the weather beat us last year. Got up and down yesterday. There was some sun and no rain.
My knees are not thanking me today but it was good for my mental wellbeing.

I left my phone in London. Not feeling too guilty about missing junior doctors strike cover. I'll sign up next time.

We kept to the paths, so no danger. Climbers code is one thing, how about 'The Custom of the Sea' which may be a problem here once we getting low on provisions.

Noice, never done it but heard good things - apart from the boulderfield on the summit approach which sounds pretty brutal. Pleased to hear it helped you out - the big outdoors is good for that somehow, though easy to forget if you get too enmeshed in the human-only spaces.

We summitted Scafell and Scafell Pike in the morning, from Wasdale, drove all round the lake district in the afternoon, over the wrynose and hardknot, and down to Whitbeck in the evening for pub dinner then back to Wasdale Head Inn for the night, then back to London next morning :-)

All without training or supplemental oxygen -)

It was a great 5 minutes in the Lake District, must do it again some time. It was 20 yrs ago though.
