The corporate media are complicit in the Gaza genocide.
Never forget what they did. Never forgive them for it.

Norman Finkestein: Israels shrinking support

Finkelstein hails the recent shift of Labour direction as significant, a response to organised popular pressure, though it has not yet gone the whole hog of calling a genocide a genocede
People on PSC weekly vigils who talk to an increasingly friendly public will be aware that Israel is becoming a vote loser. The Liberal Party has already called the genocide by its name and dmanded an end to arm sales. The Greens will presently denounce Zionism as racism

Even Reform voters are cooling off against Israel Firse, tho not always for the best of reasons. One of them assured me on saturday that President Trump, whom he once admired, had secretly converted to Judaisn in 2018. "Didnt you see hime aat the Wailing Wall: he is in their pockets"

That's what stood out to me too

Some of the other segments will have been familiar to Norm watchers. I don't think it's as significant as he thinks given that it's clearly quite cosmetic (it's easy to circumvent those sanctions, we are still arming them without pause, etc.) and is designed to prevent the kind of voter desertion that the Dems experienced.

Having said that, I agree that having a senior cabinet member call the terrorists in the West Bank what they are is a huge change from Sturmer's craven subservience. It remains to be seen what actually changes in practice. My guess is not much given the bleating victimhood from the usual suspects has already died down; no doubt meetings will have been held and assurances given.

"Retarded ape" is a classic from Norm on donny scumbag though

"I won't dignify the attacker's words by repeating them, they are horrific and vile."

When UK vigils began only about forty percnt of uk public oposed israel. Now its over 80 percent, and more than half regard the genocide as a genocide. Gaza is the great moral issue of the age, and at least six per cent of the population (Muslims) regard it that way. So too does an increasing segment of UK tiny Jewish pupulation.

IMO Miliband is sincere. He took the Labour party from Recognition to Policy. He has not persuaded b
urnham to name the
gennocide. Burnham is merely a clever opportunist; he knows he cannot contue arming israel once he recognises the Genocide;

but he also knows knows he will face a storm at the next Conference conference if he has not already done so. Even the PLP careerist fear this issue could now turn by-elections

This is why the upcoming Holborn election is significant. Lifeboaters are hoping for a Workers Party Win- a defeat for the liberal tossers and wankers. Palestinians (ask them) want it to be Zak Polanski. Like the change of policiy, It will relieve their sense of having been totally forgotten by Western publics.
