Ive speared a Turbot with the end of my surfcaster at Mahanga, and ive foul hooked a good flounder when jagging for mullet with, treble hooks next to the Pandora bridge. Hard case. Small shrimps or worms would be the caper in a known flatfish producing location, and i think the key to success would be night time fishing, when other baitfish are less active, and flounder/soles are more active. All the legitamitly caught flat fish i no and have seen caught on rods have been caught in the hours of darkness. Has anyone else noticed this??
