As kids we'd make little flounder "longlines".

We used them at Raglan with heaps of success, sometimes catching 6 or 7 in an evening.
Would have been more but ok we were only kids and not allowed out too late then.

Ledger rigged, pyramid sinker about 2oz,reversed to dig in the mud/sand, 6 hooks on droppers of about 150mm,spaced about 300mm apart. Bait was a kernel of canned corn or a green pea.

We'd bung it out across a little channel on the incoming tide,in one of the many little inlets around the town, tie it off securely, go ride our bikes about for an hour and come back and drag em in.Some flounders were hooked head and tail, probably as we hadn't worked out the techo side of trace spacings! We were only kids after all, but we'd still catch plenty!

Rebait and rebung, another ride and then pack up, gut the flounders and off home.
    Easy.
You didn't need fancy gear then.
    Still don't now.
The hooks we had then were about 12mm long, sprathooks.Berley was stamped-on peas or corn kernels mixed with sand and thrown in next to the line.... not too much was the trick.
Thinking about it now fishing methods haven't changed much.

I reckon the flash little sabiki systems available everywhere now would be just the bee's knees!

    Worth a crack...?
