    Local Angler Trophy Archived Message

Now I don't want to drag up a dead duck but...I've been thinking the last few days about Duncan's, Nicks etc...suggestion of a need for a local trophy, espeacialy for those guys & girls who can only fish field weekends for a few hours, whether it be for family or work reason etc...here are some suggestions:
    Rules:
    Boundaries - Waimarama - Tangoio
Anybody that fishes between these boundaries during any given field weekend points for the fish caught will be allocated to The Champion Angler comp & The Local Angler, e.g. James fishes 10 of the 12 field weekends up North and 2 locally - The 2 locally he fishes, points are allocated to both comps - and the other 10 allocated to The Champion Angler.
If an angler catches fish locally then leaves the set local boundaries and catches fish all the points goes the Champion Angler & not the local...eg The local trophy points are only allocated if fished between those boundaries - so we are not faced with the problem of confusion of individual fish in once catch been allocated to both comps?
I feel this will encourage anybody to get out and fish on any given field weekend - even if its only possiable anyone to get out for an hour.
This idea is not to give anyone a "leg up" or to take away anything from those that put the effort in - its to encourage those that simply cannot - anyone given field weekend.
    ( it dosen't have to be a trophy - brass fish? )

I need your ideas - likes or dislikes...if its a dead duck i won't bother bringing it up at the meeting
