I am a New Zealander. Born here, lived here and have added my bit to the properity of the country. I have represented New Zealand in World fishing contests in countries half way round the world. I have represented New Zealand tourism at trade shows and Sports venues in several countries. I have acted as a guide for many including an American President showing off this marvelous country. I wouldnt mind paying a saltwater licence fee. That is as long as it is put to good use saving and restoring habitat and watchdogging fish populations. I do get a bit put out when access is lost so licence fees should also go towards securing access to out coast. Licence fees can also be used to quell poaching of our resource. There should be no rights for one but not for another. New zealand should be for New Zealanders. Are you a New Zealander? What do you think? Priviledges are given by those who have rights to access. It is a priveledge to be allowed accross private land. The owners have the right to it.
I have always thought that we will end up with saltwater licencing and I believe it can be beneficial.
