Hi Gordon Seems like the legislation is a lot tighter in Scotland You say that your waste paper/cardboard goes into orange bags for collection, is this a requirement that you HAVE to recycle. I collect mine up voluntarily and Wendy disposes of it at the local Waitrose as they have large recycle bins, my local council collects paper from residents, but have not contacted us to offer local businesses the same service One thing that does amaze me is that all this legislation is aimed at us garages, but what about the millions on plastic oil/antifreeze/brake fluid containers that are sold from the likes of Halfords, Motor Factors and garage petrol stations in a year, they must all contain some residues, but they can be tossed into your domestic rubbish, god nows what happens to all the waste oil from Sunday DIY'ers I can do an oil change, put the empty plastic container in my skip which may contain up to 1/4 ltr of oil, but i must put the crushed oil filter containing no oil into a special drum, where is the sense in that As usuall, the goverment bash the businesses because we can pay, and cannot hide the evidence, joe public get let off because it's to difficult to inforce, and get them to take empty containers to collection points Anyway, nice to hear from you Gordon Controversial subject John Peter PS: My tyre collector told me that tyres are burnt in the new tyre burning power stations, so they get free fuel from me, which i pay to have taken away, but i don't get a reduction on my elec bill
