"John Pilger was a long time ago, and how many interviews has she done since?" Archived Message

I think the question you should be asking is: how much reading has she done since then? Pilger, after pointing out that she had indolently recycled Pentagon talking points in her preamble to that interview, advised her to "read, just read." I usually listen to her programme, she has an eclectic mix of worthwhile guests too. The worthwhile guests---novelists, comedians, the odd decent political activist like Anthony Loewenstein, Nils Melzer and Ken Loach---are not the problem. It's the vicious liars and fanatics that she regularly hosts without challenge that are the problem. People like Serhii Plokhy, Simon Schama, Jonathan Freedland, Michael Burleigh, Michael Portillo, Anne Applebaum, Alex Gibney, A.A. Gill, and Douglas Murray---whom, she noted, "has been praised by figures as diverse as Nick Cohen, Roger Scruton, and the Chief Rabbi of Britain." That was apparently meant to indicate to her audience Murray's intellectual status. Her show, like Morning Report, Worldwatch, Checkpoint, and everywhere else on RNZ National, was a source of unending contempt for and amusement at the plight of Julian Assange, and it was fully on board with the Clinton campaign's Russiagate hoax, probably the stupidest (and funniest) botched psy-op. in history. https://members5.boardhost.com/xxxxx/msg/1671492757.html
