We need people dedicated to the Beach, and the pushing away of the 49er heritage with no input from those who were foundational to it and to our previous athletic success might not be able to be corrected.
I don't agree with how it was handled, I was and will forever be a 49er. And I competed representing Long Beach State.
I support how I can, but I can see how people are not inclined to do so with the lack of consistency in our pursuit of excellence athletically/academically above all else.
I agree with that statement in general, but what should or could we do to make that happen?
The first thing the school and athletic dept can do is stop pushing away donors, alums and fans so they will start donating again. Damage control is needed and it's time to get on our knees to get people back in the fold and become fans/donors again.
You are very correct. Our problems are only going to get worse in todays environment unless we can get more people to donate to athletics, get those who already donate to donate MORE, an find a way to cut some of our costs associated with fundraising and booster rewards. It is all about the $$$.
DONATE!!!
As we discussed and as I have been anticipating since Smitheran and Acker joined the family (again, they have a model that's worked at SDSU), we are seeing some progress. A great sign and position for LB basketball!

One question as anybody reading this from the athletic department is to please change the picture of the floor as not the mid as looks like Southern Miss.
