I think the idea that there will be a college sports like what used to exist minus football and high level basketball is correct.
LB State and others need to become excellent in these sports and NOT dropping sports that LB can become a leader in like water polo, golf, track and field etc.
The reality is once the NCAA is purged by the major football programs even basketball and volleyball will start too become irrelevant as well, bedside the NBAS will be able to build the G league.
In many ays this is actually great because to be honest a lot of schools won;t be able to compete in this environment like they think, like Cal and probably even Stanford. Vanderbilt ? Oregon?
Alrighty football will be what they want to spend money on and not all these other programs.
This leaves schools about excellence in the Olympic sports. Actual student athletes.
Is Nebraska, Penn State etc going to fund women's volleyball if they aren't required too? Title 9 goes away?
Maybe it isn't as bleak as we think.
