at the present time thee are around 365 school in the ncaa d1 division --- lets stop messing around and lets say 300 of them will not be able to fund the NIL programs so these 300 schools or so should NOW start laying the ground work for another d` type division o the ncaa and within in a year they should have the outline or foundation of their plan to move away from the schools that can afford the NIL bs -- don.t wait until the last minute to decide on what to do -- these 300 or so schools knows now what they have to survive as a d1 or other type of division ---- lets not wait until the last minute - lets get started NOW -- lets leave all the hanger oners in the dust --------- GO 49ers ----------------------
If the midmajors have to drop to a lower-level conference, NIL will still play a role on which school an athlete commits to. The schools (future Div 2) with the most robust NIL groups will get the best 3 star players. NIL is not going away. Sadly, it's the new reality in college and high school sports. I believe the P4 schools will form a super conference in 2 years and the midmajors will have to form the best conference alignment they can figure out. The chaos in college sports will continue as players chase the best $ deal they can get.
LBRob. You are absolutely correct. Even if LBSU gets some NIL money together it will not be anywhere near enough to get the best athletes and keep them.
Also with the financial limitations our athletic dept now has we are destined to be a revolving door for administrators and coaches
The Big West and like conferences will no longer be Division 1 as we have known it. All of that will change.
LBSU athletics needs to concentrate on what we are, an educational institution that has good opportunities for athletes with an emphasis on getting a good education.
