Thank you Dennis! The Gold Mine is not the right place any more to play sporting events. I do have found memories of Joe Harrison and Seth Greenberg coaching there. Even then I had a seat under the basket.

I, like all of you would like to know what the plan is for the Pyramid. After doing some research over the past few months, I have learned a little, but this is not a simple subject. Here is what I know...
The Pyramid was opened on November 30, 1994, and according to sources, had a life expectency of 30 years, which we have now passed. From what I have been told, there was never a reserve fund put in place to either repair or replace this structure when it became 30 years. Apparently the CSU system does not do this. When a building or an asset becomes obsolete, they can take money from the existing budget, ask for the public to donate funds, have the tax payers fund, issue state bonds to fund it, etc.
Nest, the Pyramid was build as a general usage building (or something like that) and is not owned or controlled by the LBS Athletic Dept. As such, they are also somewhat in the dark as to what the state is CSU system is going to do to fix or replace this building. It is really no different than the library or the Business Dept. buildings, except that it gets a lot more attention.
I know that there has already been one study to try to determine what should or could be done to replace the Pyramid or to fix it. I have been told that there is now a second study that is going on because the results of the initial study generated both questions and some suggestions.
In talking to people with, some building experiencg, they have ventured guesses from $20 M to $80 M to resolve the Pyramid issue.
My understanding is that LBS Fed Credit Union knew of the problems with the Pyramid when they agreed to the recent naming rights negotiations ($8.5 M). It also my understanding that their purchase of the Naming Righs money was not intended to be a part of repairing the Pyramid,
There was an LBS article that came out in the winter of 2014 which talked about the Pyramid, and had a very interesting picture of the Pyramid as the roof was being installed.
In summary, repair or replace of the Pyramid is a BIG issue, and is not under the control of either Bibby Smitheran or the Athletic Department. If you have questions, you should address them to the CSU Chanslor's office (don't expect a response but you can try)!
I am sure that Bobby or others in the Athletic Department would love to provider all of us with answers, but they do not have the responsibility or the capability to do so.
Does all of this frustrate you??? Me too, but that is where we are from my point of view. If you have knowledge that I do not have, please post it! But be aware that LOTS of people on the inside are pushing for the same answers that all of us are!!!
In actuallity, having the roof leaking for sometime now has focused attention on what should happen with the Pyramid in the long run and just might lead to a solution in the next year or so. Without the leaks, this tin can might be kicked down the road until another Prymid problem came to the surface.
People ARE WORKING ON THIS ISSUE, but unfortunately it is just one of many issues that the CSU system is currently trying to deal with in these tough economic times!!!
Looking forward to your thoughts and suggestions for funding of this problem!!!

The boosters need a plan from the administration
What is the plan if MVB vs UCLA has 4000 seats sold and Pyramid Leaks
Even on no rain days, they open the doors and freeze everyone out.
This weekend 3 fans fell going up the uneven stairs with no railings in front of us.
Most boosters and attendees are not students and younger fans
It is pretty obvious to me the dwindling season ticket holders are getting older.
As season ticket holders, only those on the floor seats get sears saved.
The chair backs should be saved for season ticket holders as well
Maybe print tickets with Pyrmid seats and Gold Mine seats?
This is becoming a joke.
How do you recruit and attract 4 and 5 star athletes to play in venues that are leaking, freezing cold, or older than high school gyms in the area.
I know the boosters in my area feel the same way
Most stay home for gold mine games
Pretty soon everyone will stay home for all games
We deserve a plan other than no money
Respectfully, 49er Ben
