Recruit freshmen for some spots, develop them for a year or two, then send them off for NIL or whatever. We need contracts with all recruits and xfers that pay us a development fee for every year a player is developed by any of our teams and signs anywhere for any amount of NIL (a percent of what they sign for per year sounds good to me). I don't care if we are on the bleeding edge of this, lets get innovative and start a trend and make some pocket change off this movement and some of these players might think twice about xferring.
Our best teams will pepper the squad with a few developmental freshmen, the rest will be 1-2 year rental jr's and sr's who just want PT while still earning a small slice of NIL pie.

AND, I do not think that this has ANYTHING to do with our coach! She is doing a great job and has been able to retain the vast majority of her players. I am delighted to have her at LBS and I hope that we can keep her for many years to come!!!

Logan King our fantastic freshman hitter for WVB is in the portal! Get used to it supporters just like Gavin Sykes any LBSU player who has a great season will be gone the next year. With Gavin it was understandable because of NIL money. I'm sure at TCU he's making probably minimally a million or close to it. Obviously for King it was a better program in that very little NIL is offered to WVB. I hear UCLA is in the running for her services. Great program almost yearly, great academic university, Westwood, etc. We will continue to lose almost anyone for a better situation monetarily or a better program to go to. Plain and simple! The only thnig that would change that would be a coach. At present we have NO coach like Tark, Joan Bonvicini or Dave Snow who built programs based on them and the desire to play for them. College athletics no longer works that way and we will continue to lose ANY great player! Very sad!
