That's the point I made in the last string. Why do coaches leave, like BB and SB, and do better at their new schools? It has to be more than coaching techniques and philosophies. Something is lacking at LB.

+ this A.D. passed on our long time softball asst to bring yet another SDSU in. And our former, long time, softball asst got the Hawaii job where she immediately made them better than LB.

The latest Jane (Apel) clown has effectively forced out four champuonship winning coaches via his attitude and policies, while turning our coaching staff into a child development project. All of whom have failed to exceed their predecessors.
Really need new Prez to clean house or D1 effort is pointless.

Joy was Cindy's choice and Andy was new and went along with it. Plus, she looked good on paper along with being an alumni.

If you go back in time over the last 7-10 years, LBSU athletics has been a model of inertia. And really this can be laid at the feet of Jane.
Dating back to Vic Cegles and his departure: Jane elected to freeze the pursuit of an AD for over a year. Cindy Masner served as interim AD.
When Andy Fee was finally hired, he stubbed his toe initially with a less than stellar hire of Joy as WVB coach. His extension of Dan's contract was considered a negative. Although projecting to the current situation, may not have been as bad as we think. One regular season BWC championship - one NIT appearance and a BWT tourney championship in five years. One of Dan's major negatives that damaged the program was not embracing and selling the community - a must for a mid-major.
Andy did make a couple of nice hires, one being Eric Valenzuela. Who started out strong then skidded to fifth and seventh place BWC finishes before leaving to head back up to St. Mary's where he has been to the NCAA's two consecutive years. Valenzuela departed after Fee had left (some have indicated that Fee was encouraged to leave by the admin). I remember a comment made by Valenzuela that a reason he left was the lack of clear direction as to an AD.
And then rinse, wash and repeat. Jane decides to go the interim route again for over a year. This time bringing Ted in as the interim out of retirement. His positive was the very much needed selling the bump in student fee structure for athletics. He also hired Amy Wright.
But Jane strikes again. She absolves herself from a AD direct report and assigns that to Scott Apel. Scott, as part of her workings mandates that the new AD stay within budget by 1% or else.
Then, the CSU Chancellors office determines a qualified candidate couldn't be found and pushes out the search another 8 months or so.
