TGIF!

I was talking to a friend with SD's the other day. She has an adult GSD and a 6 mo GSD. She was talking about the various lines of GSD's and what they were originally bred for, and then she asked what line Krypto came from.

Well, we all know that he's a purebred pound puppy!

But, it got me thinking...

Would I rather have had a really well-bred GSD, bred for things like retrieval work, to make him a SD?

Would I have rather ignored dogs needing homes badly, or else...?

That brings me to you. If your dog came from some kind of shelter, or was a dog that someone just ended up with or bred, not necessarily with papers and careful breeding and such, would you have rather gotten a dog with specific attributes from a very good breeder?

If your dog did come from a very good breeder, would you go with a rescue the next time around, or would you stick with your breeder?

It's a difficult question, I know, since I was just asked it.
