Ok answering all your posts in this one. They didn't get approval to bring her over did they?
This whole situation sounds really weird.
From what you have posted last night/this morning - I am crossing my fingers there will be no out-burst from anyone.
She must feel really intimadated - Overwhelmed and grieving her previous owner and totally confused with all the changes. Who ever that woman was who acted for the vet... doesn't seem dog smart.
As for the ticks.... now that's scary and it will mean a vet visit sooner rather then later.
I would change her name... Maybe Hilda... or a name that sounds similar to what the Owner Vet called her.
You have a mess and I am so sorry that this has happened. But when life drops a critter in your lap - make a pet! I just made that up.. sounds great yes?
Do you have extra pet tools that can be her's or do you have to use one set for both. I'm thinking with all your dogs you have more of everything.
At least you and DH have the Knowledge of all that she needs.
I am so sorry you have been blasted in so many ways. This is the last straw - hopefully. I am praying for her, you and DH, and all your other critters.
I hope the Chicken coop is sturdy. Yesterday the guy across the street from A's had to stray dogs, 1 big black one not in control and a german shepard that was - who knew the guy had lots of chickens. The GS grabbed one of the roosters and took off running up the road. I think the dog phone system has spread the word. I've never seen these dogs before.
Sorry thought of your chickens and verged into the chicken stealer of this morning. Why that guy free ranges his chickens is something I can't understand.
OK I will watch for further posts. Candles lit and prayers for all. Good Luck!
