I almost died when they tried to put him in a huge crate head first. I actually had to turn him around and put him butt first in to the crate. One of the girls held his head but I pretty much did it myself. I didn't dare look at him for I knew he was frightened.
Plus I was upset. I told them the sequence of event. His trip, or what ever he did that caused him to start limping on his rear right leg. That he stopped running at all and only recently has run after a cat in the yard and 1 other time to run around our yard.
That he does better in the morning but in afternoon he doesn't have a stroke but is lack luster and lays down and doen't want to move.
He recently started to climb the back porch steps but would prefer not to. He has no problem with the porch stepsout front and when he decides to go in he walks around the house to the front door.
His mood has seemed odd. Not like a seizure but a real down feeling. Reluctant to move. I am not sure if that is pain or some other issue.
He has begun to jump onto my bed but not all the time. And often refuses to. If I put a treat near the edge of the bed he uses his paw to pull it to him.
He won't jump on his chair at all. It is his preferred bed. Now he sleeps on the floor rather then on my bed or in his chair. He also has the front room love seat that he used to stand on to watch people in the road and also to watch for A & Flinn.
He is eating well and due to his gaining weight in the middle I had cut back on the size of his servings to half what they were. I mentioned that he eats a lot of grass but was told he would do that if his is stomach upset. DUH! He fnally vomited on my bedroom floor last night. 8-(
He still weighed in at 69# so he's gained weight.
He circles our property but doesn't run but lopes unless there is an animal that he has spotted or smelled or a cat or deer which I haven't seen at all. Then he runs but not fast like he used to, over to the fence closest for a better look.
Charlie has never been away from me since he had his testical operation at 9 months - one of them would not drop.
I am not to pick him up till 5pm. Charlie has a Guardian Angel that is helping me get to and from, and other as needed. If they do all the tests on him whos knows how much it will cost. Thank God for the Guardian Angel.
So I told them all the above and more as to his symptoms and normal habits. I hope they find what is wrong with his Hips? or leg or whatever is bothering him.
Plum I was totally suprised to see Charlie not just walking but troting, loping/cantering and galloping instead of racing. When he used one of them his body looked like babe's. Every one of them was at a proper gait speed. He never did that before. I was dumb founded.
I know he has a straight flat back like Babes but to look like a horse walking, trotting, cantering/ loping was amazing. But his racing was all dog. How weird is that? The only thing I can imagine is that his back or hip was hurt enough to change his speeds and form.
Well that's all for now will post after Charlie is back home safe and sound with an explanation for all his moods or hurts.
Still he looked pretty darn horse-like when in motion. I was totally stunned watching him. He was beautiful floating across the yard. 8-)
