Translation:: "You are vanquished, NECROMANCER!"
When the bone monster shattered into a million pieces, both Birch and Irzen gave an audible gasp as they collapsed upon the ground relieved to know that the battle was finally over!
The battle for Northaven was over and the remnants of the horde fled back down the valley, what was left of them. Mandur grabbed his horn and blew it three times signalling that the battle has ended. A cry of cheers echoed throughout the valley and the surrounding area.
Ragged and worn, the Drow Swordsman stumbled to his feet, brandished his sword aloft and screamed at the top of his lungs, "NORTHAVEN VICTAAAA!!!"
Prince Birch brandished his sword high and joined in the fearsome cry of victory, "NORTHAVEN VICTAAAAA!"
As his Archers cheered from the parapets; Prince Willow breathed a sigh of relief and broke into a smile before he held his bow aloft and cried, "NORTHAVEN VICTAAAAAAA!!!"
Translation: "NORTHAVEN VICTA! NORTHAVEN VICTORIOUS!"
The bronze man breathed a sigh of relief. Battles were fascinating to him from a distance, from a tactical stand point but to see this much death bothered him.
The red dragon, Dearerax landed nearby on the battle field separating the allies of the dead from the wounded. The bodies of the horde were haphazardly thrown in a big pile to be burned later.
Mandur signaled his troops to gather the wounded by bringing in carts in groups of fours which helped a lot. While Captain Andaerean and his company followed suit in collecting their fallen. The remaining heavy horse company mopped up the bodies of the horde adding them to the pile started by the red dragon.
Irzen did his best to tend to help Mandur and his men tend to the wounded. While he had no healing skills of his own, the Swordsman knew enough to help those who needed it to reach the Healers. By offering a strong arm to some or a shoulder to lean on to others, the Dark Elf did his best to aid his High Elven counterparts get the medical care they needed.
Crown Prince Ash hugged his brother, "You did great, Birch! I thank you for all of the inspiration you gave to my men and I."
"No, brother, WE DID GREAT!" Birch hugged his brother back, "You and I cutting down our enemies by the sword. Willow cutting down our enemies by the bow. Everything is as it should be for the sons of Sunrider!"
Over the course of the rest of the day, all the allies finished their work on the battle field and headed back into the city for celebration. Cheers from throughout the city rose high amid those surviving the onslaught of the invading horde. Mandur and his fellows camped down by the gates and celebrated there. While Andaerean, his company and the heavy horses of Dinnendale gladly accepted gave their steeds the best of care. Crown Prince Ash returned to the palace and personally informed his father, King Sunrider that the enemy was vanquished.
Following Crown Prince Ash into the throne room, Prince Birch and Prince Willow stood side by side as their older brother informed their father about the fate of their kingdom.
"You did well, brother, your aim was true and your arrow was sure," Prince Birch admitted to Prince Willow, "You and your Archers swayed the tide of battle in our favor. You should be proud."
"I am thankful, brother, thankful that we are still alive," Prince Willow confessed, "We faced long odds but we not only endured we also won!"
Irzen strode forth when they were done, dropped to one knee and in the tradition of the Drow held up the severed head of their enemy, Gruumasht, "Sunrider, Eldalie Valuk, Usstan belbau dos l'karliik d'dosst ogglin! Uk dron nau mzild! Verve dro l'valuk!"
Translation: "Sunrider, Elven King, I give you the head of your enemy! He lives no more! Long live the king!"
Prince Willow interjected, "This is how the Drow honor a victorious liege lord after a battle, father. They present to the victor the gift of the fallen head of their enemy."
"Quite barbaric," Prince Birch admitted openly, "And yet, poetic! There is some novelty in this methinks."
