Alyson and Quake eyed each other while the adults with experience talked the shield maiden out of a journey into the Underdark. The fire-stone dragon sat down and munched on some multicolored rocks after the elmentalist heated them up.
"Okay! Okay!" Serna finally conceded, "No Underdark for me--ever! I get it!"
"So, are we camping now or still walking because I am getting a little hungry and bored just standing here." Alyson said nonchalantly.
"Adventure! Humph! Excitement! Humph! A Jedi craves not these things!" Irzen replied in his best Yoda voice.
Serna broke out into gales of laughter.
The Bronze Man raised an eye brow at the swordsman but said nothing.
"Feeling homesick, Irzen?" The platinum knight inquired.
The Swordsman gave The Platinum Knight a sly grin.
"Nah, he's just being a his typical Earthling self to lighten the mood." Alyson waved at the swordsman.
"She pretty much hit the nail on the head." The Swordsman confessed as he walked on, "Someone had to do it. Why not me?"
"Onward! Onward to East Port!" Caliaphy flew over to a rock posing as SuperGirl.
"I agree! Let's go." The Swordsman ushered the others onward, "If we keep up a good pace, we can reach Prince Birch's land by nightfall. And I have no doubt that he will welcome us with open arms, warm beds and a hearty dinner."
Serna laughed at Caliaphy while she struck her pose, "You realize you're not going to get anywhere fast posing like that, don't you?"
The kurori wave her off and fluttered over, "I can pose like a superhero if I want to, Serna."
"I know! I know!" The Shield Maiden laughed and held up her hand to ward her off, "But you still look silly."
Alyson snickered finally jumping up onto Quake's back offering a hand to anyone else who wanted to ride instead of walking. "We can all go faster if everyone gets on Quake."
Lazheros mused accepting Alyson's hand up onto the elemental dragon's back, "I admit I am usually the one carrying everyone but I am curious to see how fast Quake can travel over land."
"I admit that I'm surprised that you don't just fly," Irzen quipped at Lazheros, "At the very least you could scout ahead and give us a heads up on any possible encounters of the hostile kind. Still, it's your choice as to how you wish to travel."
"I do have reasons for not flying except only when I need to, Swordsman. I prefer to remain in human form and its easier for me to converse with all of you than in my natural form." The bronze man stated.
"Fair enough," The Swordsman joked, "Although I thought you were going to say that your arms were tired. Ha! Ha! Ha!"
"Hahaha!" Madeous chuckled, "Irzen, Serna your next and I will get on last."
Serna climbed atop Quake's back and Irzen followed suit.
Madeous jumped up onto the Quake's back easily enough and waited for Alyson's que.
"Out of curiosity, Quake, how fast can you run?" The Swordsman asked in pure curiosity.
The fire-stone dragon gave the Swordsman a toothy grin but said nothing as her pace went from a walk, trot, and fluid gallop of a thorough bred horse at the speed of a passenger train going fifty miles per hour. Her ability to Earth Glide made their trip fluid and without any stops along the east coast gradually slowing down a mile south of East Port beyond the city limits.
"Oh! You can run THAT fast!" The Swordsman answered his own question, "Pretty cool! We got here a heck of a lot faster than I thought. We might be too early for dinner but its never too early for a mid-afternoon snack. Shall we go onward into yonder city?"
Quake let everyone dismount first before she too began to change shape into a fully form human this time without any mishaps. She wore a blue and brown long tunic with an open vest, pants and boots. "Ah, finally I've mastered polymorphing."
"Wow!" Alyson walked over to inspect the elemental's new form, "Not bad, not bad at all."
"I'm impressed!" Irzen did a double take, "That's pretty cool!"
"Awesome!" Serna ran over to Quake and gave her a hug, "You look just as Human as the rest of us--well, sort of."
Madeous blinked a couple of times, "So that's what you were learning in the City of the Great Veil. I wondered what the elder dragons were teaching you."
"Ah, shucks!" Quake pulled her hair back around and tied it off with leather string to reveal her mostly human ears with slightly longer.
"Impressive but don't over do it, Quake. Choose a form that makes you feel comfortable and go with that." Lazheros rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
Caliaphy fluttered over to Serna, "Umm, should I look like another kid too? I mean I could play the part, right?"
"Why?" Serna asked nonchalantly, "I think you look neat just the way you are, Caliaphy."
The elementalist raised her hand to shield her eyes from the suns rays to see the city better, "I don't know much about East Port and I'd rather not provoke the authorities either. Thoughts?"
"Yeah, we walk through the town like normal folk." Irzen smiled from ear to ear, "Guys, we are the conquering heroes! Heck, we just got through saving this entire kingdom not more than a day ago. I say we walk right through the center of town, go right up to the palace gates, and ask for an audience with our old friend, Prince Birch. He and Princess Cauladra should be back from Northaven by now. They will probably receive us with open arms, warm beds, happy tales and a hearty meal."
"I agree!" Serna added, "For once, we don't have to sneak into a town or sneak out of it. We're just passing through and we need rest for the night. And since Prince Birch knows all of us, I don't think he would object. Would he?"
