The fire-stone dragon gave the Swordsman a toothy grin but said nothing as her pace went from a walk, trot, and fluid gallop of a thorough bred horse at the speed of a passenger train going fifty miles per hour. Her ability to Earth Glide made their trip fluid and without any stops along the east coast gradually slowing down a mile south of East Port beyond the city limits.
"Oh! You can run THAT fast!" The Swordsman answered his own question, "Pretty cool! We got here a heck of a lot faster than I thought. We might be too early for dinner but its never too early for a mid-afternoon snack. Shall we go onward into yonder city?"
Quake let everyone dismount first before she too began to change shape into a fully form human this time without any mishaps. She wore a blue and brown long tunic with an open vest, pants and boots. "Ah, finally I've mastered polymorphing."
"Wow!" Alyson walked over to inspect the elemental's new form, "Not bad, not bad at all."
"I'm impressed!" Irzen did a double take, "That's pretty cool!"
"Awesome!" Serna ran over to Quake and gave her a hug, "You look just as Human as the rest of us--well, sort of."
Madeous blinked a couple of times, "So that's what you were learning in the City of the Great Veil. I wondered what the elder dragons were teaching you."
"Ah, shucks!" Quake pulled her hair back around and tied it off with leather string to reveal her mostly human ears with slightly longer.
"Impressive but don't over do it, Quake. Choose a form that makes you feel comfortable and go with that." Lazheros rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
Caliaphy fluttered over to Serna, "Umm, should I look like another kid too? I mean I could play the part, right?"
"Why?" Serna asked nonchalantly, "I think you look neat just the way you are, Caliaphy."
"Umm, okay I think." Caliaphy shrugged.
"You'll be fine." Serna smiled at her friend, "Just stick close and try and be on your best behavior."
The elementalist raised her hand to shield her eyes from the suns rays to see the city better, "I don't know much about East Port and I'd rather not provoke the authorities either. Thoughts?"
"Yeah, we walk through the town like normal folk." Irzen smiled from ear to ear, "Guys, we are the conquering heroes! Heck, we just got through saving this entire kingdom not more than a day ago. I say we walk right through the center of town, go right up to the palace gates, and ask for an audience with our old friend, Prince Birch. He and Princess Cauladra should be back from Northaven by now. They will probably receive us with open arms, warm beds, happy tales and a hearty meal."
Lazheros agreed with the swordsman, "Indeed."
"I agree!" Serna added, "For once, we don't have to sneak into a town or sneak out of it. We're just passing through and we need rest for the night. And since Prince Birch knows all of us, I don't think he would object. Would he?"
The sounds of sea gulls along the harbor could be heard for miles at the edge of East Port's docks. The sounds of bustling people of various races from gnomes to dragonborn and the occasional half giant traversed the city proper. The elven guards patrolled all over the city and near the palace itself. East Port was clearly elven in origin with its fine and natural habitats that made up for half of the scenery with a touch of fifteenth century London. The docks were the busiest with ships coming and going from the main port. Elven battle ships, magnificent, awe inspiring, and deadly to anyone foolish enough to engage one on the open sea. One elven ship equaled two human war ships when it came to the magical fire power of the vessel itself. High above not one but two airships from Asylum were tethered by two massive heavy reinforced ropes adjacent to one of the three watch towers that sat along the edge of the city.
"Wow!" Alyson and Quake said in unison.
"Impressive blend of nature and nobility in one," Madeous surveyed the city.
"It is beautiful!" Irzen confessed, "I can see why Prince Birch is more of a Bard than anything else. With such an environment to inspire him and so much leisure time on his hands, how can he not let his muse lead him where she desires?"
"Chef Hallas often spoke of this particular city during his travels before settling down in Asylum. He was thoroughly impressed by the grace, might, and splendor of the sea faring elves and their ships." Lazheros said as they walked towards the city gate.
"I wonder if this city is a lot like West Fall as far as the culture goes. I mean other than the ancient library that held the entire history of Northaven kingdom. I wonder what kind of shoppes they have here?" Alyson gazed upon the wonder of East Port.
"Well, there is only one way to find out," Serna beamed from ear to ear, "Whose up for a little exploring before we see the prince and princess?"
"I would surmise that this city reminds you of home, Irzen with the exception of the environment and contrast to the light of the area." Madeous gestured to the surrounding area.
"Nope! Not really." The Swordsman shook his head, "Don't get me wrong: This city is beautiful but Naermon Nithren is unique. There is no city in the Underdark quite like it, and in all my travels in the Surface World, I have found no city to be its equal."
Caliaphy turned into the fairy and sat down on Serna's shoulder, "Actually this city reminds me of home. A mix of Asylum and the Ancient Oak. It's sooooooo beautiful."
"It is isn't it?" Serna agreed as she looked around, "And there are so many people here from so many places. It kind of reminds me more of Asylum than anything else."
