I don't follow international news like I used to, but initially it's exciting to hear about the fall of Syria but now they truly face an uncertain future. It's exciting, but remember that the rebels that took down Damascus are considered a terrorist organization by the US government and other Western governments. To my knowledge, Iran has direct communications with this rebel group so it'll be interesting to see how their new government shakes out. If I was the US, I'd be preparing financial incentive packages in return for input/assistance on setting up their government. Hopefully the UN can get involved as well. And I believe we also have troops in northern Syria working with the Kurds.....so yeah...slippery slope to say the least!! The only thing that surprises me is how quickly the regime fell once the rebels started their march to the capital city. I was encourage by the fact that nobody took out any of their national landmarks or religious/historic buildings. Looks to be a peaceful transition.....so far anyway.

I will say that I am totally impressed by the resiliency of this Vikings team. What a balanced attack they had on Sunday, on offense and defense. It would've been a perfect day if Reichard would've hit that long field goal. It's fun watching this team hit on all cylinders, especially after being picked to finish last in the division by most experts. Should be a shoe-in for the playoffs. But heck...how many times have we needed that big win late in the season against the Bears at home and lay a freaking egg??!! Hope this year is different and we dominate them from start to finish. I find it interesting how all of the wildcard teams in the NFC could have better records than 2 of the 4 division winners! It's times like this where I wish they'd re-seed everyone for the playoffs. I understand how important it is to win your division and you should be rewarded for that, but this years' NFC wildcard teams are off the charts good.
