Anyways, the article suggested Kwesi & KOC were from the beginning of their hiring. Adamant that the path to glory was cheap qb. Probably a draft pick. Surrounded by a top quality roster. Cousins was never really in their plans. But $30m per wasnt a deal breaker until the achilles injury.

It appears- that "chose wisely young luke" worked out rather well for the kiddie brain trust... Darnold as it turned out. Was a cream puff+ a cherry atop kinda signing!

I think Zach Wilson might be another. They think maybe, its Danny Jones? Brett Rypien? Nah. I think rypien is a longshot. Jones has such a history of innaccuracy & bonehead Wentz moments.

Theres so many options available, when your plan is to rebuild the confidence of a guy that had the measurables to be drafted top 20.

I love Sam. The dude stands in like Big Ben used to. Tough mfer! His age doesnt bother me in the least. Dudes got likely 6-8 years of prime left in his little used body.
At the same time. I agree with the kids in charge.
The supporting cast compliments a qb. Theres a small handful. Burrow. Mahomes. Allen that can still win many games surrounded by mostly average players. Im not sure Sam, subtracting a $50m or $60m cap hit from the support cast is the right path. Tag & trade. Maybe tag twice & trade. One more year behind sam for jj?

That makes the most sense.
But who knows. Did the niners let Joe montana walk after a SB win season? Im pretty sure. Trent dilfer did after the 1st Ravens Ring year.

How far Sam takes them in the post season. How all that plays out. Likely is the deciding factor. That and the lockeroom to a lesser degree. We saw with atl. How a team stalls ifn u annoint some guy the starter. When the lockeroom loves the other guy. When the 2nd guy balls out in all the opractice & ota stuff. We saw it with Zach Wilson in Ny.

We'll be revisiting this "conundrum" in about 6-7 weeks. Its a good problem to have. Too many qb's!
