Everybody gonna laugh & groan when hes selected. He 5-9. Probably measured standing on a box.
But man, that kid played great theiugh the college playoffs. You cant fix suze. It'll show up in some unfortunate moments. But his cover skills and tackling are as good as there is in this draft.
Iowas TJ hall. CB. He reminds me of Cam Bynum.
Slow, really slow for an nfl corner(4.59).
So was Bynum.
And like Bynum. Hall is a football player. Tough guy with high db IQ.
Could be the next project fs conversion where the viking turn a 3rd/4th rounder into a big moment ball hawk int machine. Just like Bynum.
Its rather an unfortunate 1st round db history for the vikings. Other than Harrison Smith. The vikings high draft pick db's have mostly been major dissapointments. So why not stick to what has worked. Grab those db's in the back half of the draft where the purple have a history of turning unheralded guys into cornerstones.
Go with lber/ DT/ guard in rounds 1&2.
Looking at the db's available. Idk that the top 5 in this draft are any better prospects than the next 15. It'd be a good draft to focus on football IQ, grit, tenacity over athletic grades. Football players & game tape over workout winners.
For sure- a 5-9 corner is highly unlikely to become an all-pro. On the other hand. A guy that can play the slot/ nickle. Stick like glue. Thats a deterrent for a qb's initial read. And the recovery speed/ reaction time will break up a lot of passes.
