Skoda is as good as many others Dave. I am sure it will last a long time. My only problem when testing some out was the steering wheel offset so not in line with the pedal box. I had to sit crooked to drive it so went elsewhere.
That old VW would be a fairly easy welding job and add new wings and a respray would be selling at 5k. Last one the boy rebuilt went to London. It had sat for a few years and he got it running and fixed the brakes and brake pipes but no journeys but the buyer just got in and drove it 190 miles home.
