Multiple parkruns near me cancelled because of the forecast, all National Trust properties ban parkrun on their land if 45mph gusts are forecast and one cancelled purely because, well... I just don't know.
So, the one I went to was mildly damp, very slightly breezy and of course just fine for everyone. The marshalls wrapped up, the runners wore t shirts and shorts and nobody died.
The other day I ran through mud and water in the snow. Thursday night in the dark my running club ran miles through very frosty fields and rocky paths way out in the sticks... in shorts and t shirt. No-one died. But parkruns can't possibly go ahead in daylight and on safe, secure surfaces. I suppose it might be difficult to expect volunteer marshalls to turn up in the rain but I wouldn't have thought it impossible. I'm surprised you're even allowed to run at parkrun these days without a crash helmet! I feel like I live in a parallel universe.
It's wet, it's slightly chilly in the wind. Oh dear. How sad. Never mind!
