Kawasaki deploy the ugly stick again

Kawasaki used to produce som really good looking bikes not in this case

Each to his own I guess but for me this has no redeeming features.

Who needs a signature anyway......

Is not just that Kawasaki but most current 'naked' bikes and quite a few faired sports bikes. Only the retros & cruisers seem to escaped the blight.

Its a generational thing. To us they're hideous, our children will be fairly indifferent about them, but our grandkids will think they're the best looking coolest bikes ever.

I fear not appreciating these modern designs says as much about us, railing against change in our dotage, as it does about the merit, or lack of merit, in the modern design ethos.

But don't worry, tastes will change and it won't be long before a new era of design will come along to oust these eyesores......and it will be a different generation's time to despise those!

..... And the people who are buying them grew up playing with Transformer toys while wearing their Power Ranger outfits ...

We still have to explain the 50s and 60s HDs with lights, chrome, streamers, and fringe...

To be fair, a lot of the stuff on that particular bike is aftermarket tat.
But, yes, think Will's summed it up well.
Styles change. I'm not overkeen on the looks of them even now, but some people LOVE the 'Breadbin/ray gun' triples. MZ250's & Hayabusas nowadays.
Even the 'explosion in a paint factory' looks of some 80/90's bikes have their fans.

The younger generation are not interested in bikes that's why so many dealers are going to the wall easier for youngsters to get a car all my grand kids have cars even Graham doesn't have a bike licence he will sell you a bike but only rides around the premises as at the moment they are trying to sell stock from closed dealers. But sell more Porsches.

There are plenty of the younger generation who are interested in bikes. Locally a lot of them ride 125s to get to college or work 'coz the rural bus service is so poor. There's also a lot who ride in MotoX, Enduro or trials because in the rural area there's places & clubs to do it.

The problem for the bike industry is all the youthful enthusiasm is killed by the cost of getting a licence so many young riders never progress beyond CBT.

The supercharged Kawasaki my Nephew had also looked horrible. The noise of the supercharger and exhaust made it sound even worse. He did sell it on and then bought a Harley V-rod. Quite some difference in bike types.
