Good catch on the incorrect hood script ! Looks like an Impala hood and letters ended up on this car at one point .

Does anyone know if the rocker spears were standard on the Biscayne model? My Biscayne has them and I see that they are also missing on this car.

Yes it should have the rocker mouldings/ spears as that was standard on Biscayne and Impala models ( however not on BelAir ). I'm guilty of not installing my spears yet ( NOS) , but the mounting holes are still there for when I do.

I read about this on yenko.net. Trim Tag shows Tarrytown NY assembly plant and VIN indicates it was assembled in Wilmington DE. Also, story claims the car was factory ordered July 20, 1968 but not built and delivered until 6/28/69. Definitely something fishy here....buyer beware.

You are wrong. The Vin has a T in it, Tarrytown, N.Y.. There is no documentation showing the COPO status. Color and engine should be on the window sticker or POP or factory delivery sheet. The blank on the color could be Hugger Orange. 454 engine nice but not original in 1969. 1970 Chevrolet sold a racing 454 engine which they installed. The delivery is 3rd week of May 1969. My L72 SS47 Impala took 4 months to build from Tarrytown. Delivered 3rd week of December 1968. NICK L72427impalasportcoupe

He updated the Vin # that was in the add. He said a picture is coming. The original Vin number that was in the add did make it look like the tags did not match.

The seller has a picture of the VIN in the Google link he posted....obviously HE listed the VIN incorrectly when he first placed the ad on eBay, as it used to have a 'Y' in it instead of the 'T' now shown. 4 months to build a car is not unusual.....10 or 11 months is.

Hi Bill. The story is not believable. They could not have ordered the car in September 1968. I ordered My L72 SS427 Impala then and it took 4 months to build with My dealer, the owner, checking on the assembly. Hugger orange or what ever the car was painted is not stamped on the cowl tag. It would make the car a COPO. There should be a POP or a window sticker or a dealer order sheet. I have all of mine to prove My car is a 1 owner ordered car. I even did the dealer prep on it and signed it. L72 or whatever engine the car was ordered with would "not" make it a COPO.. The 454 racing engine was installed when it became available over the counter. Contact the New York Dealer. NICK L72427impalasportcoupe
