I have come to the crossroads with my car and debating whether to sell or keep my ’67 SS.
In order to make my decision I would like to get a ballpark value for my car and the stash of parts I have accumulated… so your knowledge and expertise would be much appreciated.
Here is the scoop on the car….
It is an original SS 327 - Butternut yellow with a black vinyl roof. Currently there is a 454 4 bolt main “high performance” block in the car with the original 327 in my garage on a stand. Was running great until an overheating issue happened, so it will need some work. Many $$ were put into the build.
It’s all original and all there, the only exception being that it was painted around 1980 or so, and some bodywork is starting to show. This is a ‘brass hat’ car from the day…. has just about every option offered in 1967 with the exception of headrest seats. Some highlights include:
* Power driver’s seat * Full gauge package * TH400 with the 12 bolt rear * Tilt wheel with the wood steering wheel. * AM/FM Stereo with the 8 track and multiplex * Power windows * Disc brakes (currently has a ’69 set up installed) - Have the original 2 piston set up in a box. * Comfortron Air Conditioning * Deluxe seat belts with the shoulder belts
The list goes one…. I think I counted over 40 options on the car. When the engine was running great I would say it was a solid #3. Great driver/10 footer. Needs to be enjoyed as is or taken to the next level.
Where it gets more interesting is my list of RARE parts that I have accumulated over the last 20 years. My plan was to restore this car into an SS427 clone.
Some SS427 Specific parts include:
* Domed Hood - Very Good * Domed Hood Bezel Re-chromed - Excellent (all studs intact) * SS427 Trunk Moulding (coupe) - Good * SS427 Trunk Moulding Letters - NOS * SS427 Gauge Cluster - full gauges including 5500 RPM Tack - Excellent
Some examples of other rare NOS parts include:
* 3904632 Hood lip moulding NOS - in GM wrapper * 3904643 Front trim vertical piece - driver side NOS - in GM wrapper * 3904644 Front trim vertical piece - passenger side NOS - in GM wrapper * 3904634 Eyebrow Trim - passenger side NOS - in GM wrapper * 3904633 Eyebrow Trim - driver side NOS - in GM wrapper
At this point I’m NOT interested in selling off the parts…. just trying to determine the approximate value of what I have.
If I were to sell, I would like to sell the whole lot as a package.
Thoughts? Detailed parts list below.

As I got my car out of storage Friday and cleaned it up I realized how the road rash was on the front that I had replaced several years ago. You need to decide how much work you want to do to sell the car, with the bib block having issues, I would put the original 327 back in to get it running, would think that a running car big block or small block would bring more as a running. Car by far especially if it is numbers matching. If you sell car as is plan a 25% hit, and the guy will want the 427 parts for a steal, Put the 327 in for someone to decide what to do with the car, if you you have docs especially on the options, I would hope someone would want to keep it original. If they use it as a driver, they will sell the trim or keep it for a time when they restore it. Now thee SS427 stuff, sell as a package, I went through the collection of SS427 stuff to do mine, it was quite a feat to get the stuff, hardest part was the deck lid trim, when I do mine I am using aftermarket front trim, I have the NOS, but why use it on a car I want to drive? I have a few SS NOS grilles and a restored one, I will be using the restored one, they are only NOS once, there are plenty of guys looking for that stuff, especially if it is a one stop shop. The 454 won’t fetch much, but can be a bargaining chip, to be used in 427 stuff, cause pulleys, intake, exhaust manifolds, etc is hard to come by as well. Now this is my opinion, would love to see photos of the car as my first 67 was s butternut yellow/ black vinyl top, but minus all the options, the car I have now was a 283 pg w/ a t400 someone put in it ps pb, I have added a ton of options I have accumulated over the years, still looking for power seat, one will show up...
But in my humble opinion, unless you are burned out, sell them separate, little more work, but the payoff would be to Your advantage. Someone needs that SS427 stuff, your 327 car optioned like that would be best.... I think
