This is a project that started back in 2016 of collecting parts, building an engine, and some outside head work (Thanks Keith! (2019) Many parts from Keith, a 010 M20 from Donny, 12 bolt from donor car 3.08 at this time, all factory F41 (except shocks) and many options added through the years, started as a 283 pg w/ac p/s p/b.
One of the pics in the middle with the 283 flags and fender "Impala SS" emblems was February 1st 2020, the other outside pics were taken July 17th, having "most" of my ducks in a row ahead allowed me to get this far, all I have left I believe is charge a/c and detail cleaning stuff, I even rebuilt the steering gear and it needed a new p/s pump. ALL trim on the front is nos I collected through the years, original bumpers, and powder coated most of the front end "black parts" (cause I'm driving it, not just looking at it) I know it's not perfect, but it looks great to me! I have added, tach dash, this time w/5500 w/speed warning, all new harnesses, p/windows, 67 fm w/multiplex, and tape (dealer installed version) with the a/b switch (that works) defogger, vacuum trunk release, 4 way power drivers seat, nos dash pad, 4 speed, front and rear sway bars with correct panhard bar, 5 red walls, nos factory cruise control, tilt wheel and an a/m wood wheel, SS427 hood and insert and had it restored, correct air cleaner, Harrison HD 4 core radiator. every light available but spot lights, (have hand held GM one) don't like the look of bumper guards, still deciding on door edge guards.
I had put 69-70 front brakes on years ago but went through them, since it was an original 283 pg car, fuel lines were replaced and all brake lines, every bolt/ bushing joints, etc. were replaced some were nos, but the rest were made in the USA. This was just from the cowl forward. Threw the dyno pic in, and that's is on pump gas. It's gotten to be a HOT summer here in the Phoenix area, so I put the car away at a friends out side of the building of that engine and Ed Hartnett going through the Muncie, I have done 98% of the work my self in my 2 hole garage, It's like playing chess .....
This is my first Big Block car unless you call a 348 a BB, that's a debate not worth the time. Can't wait for winter, it's our summer here in Phoenix. Still want and will probably never find are nos or nice used dash trim w/a/c and 8 track trim/ face plate, so if some of you 67 guys have something squirreled away I'm willing to listen.
Hope you like the pics, and what would one call this? an SS427c ? RPO Z23.5 lol have a sense of humor and humor me
This site needs more action, and some or one maybe is always negative. I can see why one would not want to post here.

Thank You . These pictures were taken at the National Impala Association Convention in Springfield IL a few years ago . That little girl is my niece Sydney . She was with me the whole time that I was restoring this car . One of the few non stock items on my car would be the Corvette wheels . I just like the wide look on the big car . Also I am not much on placing pictures on the board . I had to post 3 times to get all 3 pictures here . There are many great looking cars being shown here . Nick your car is looking great .Any idea when you might have it on the road .

Beautiful car Bill! Excellent attention to detail. How did you get the cluster's lense so clean?
Depends how bad they are, kind of like sanding and buffing paint, wet sand scratches first, ( make sure you feather them out) don’t want grooves in the plastic, 1200 grit if that will do it, work your way up to 2500, 3000 if you have it. Get the buffer out and start with a heavier grit compound on any tougher spots, get it as good as you can till switching to a polishing compound. (Polishing compound usually doesn’t take scratches out) Best to have a helper to hold on a blanket or something soft, I made a jig to hold it still while buffing and sanding, back side usually only needs a polish, but not always.

Looks great Bill! Very happy for you. Do you have a new facebook name? LOL.
Thanks Donny, and for the tech offering, knowledge is key, Without you and Keith, it probably wouldn’t of happened.
I do have a new FB name, Closed or deleted the old one 3 years ago, I am finding it to be a new learning curve, as I do not like FB, probably put to many restrictions but it is what it is till I figure it out, I don’t want all the “hey I ate with Bill at Joes hamburger joint” hope it works and I figured you would probably figure it out. I want to just be on car related group’s etc. Any good one’s? Already on Warren’s. Bill

Thanks Steve It was a lot of work gathering stuff up, and even more doing all that work from Feb 1st on, I should of started in October or so, but when your a 1 man show, there are other obligations and deciding to get my butt in gear, one would think after being here16 years from Iowa, that the seasons are the opposite! I like it here in Arizona but car show season is end of September/ early October till May/ June depending on the year, but it is weird yet at Christmas time not being freezing, being in the shorts. I think what sold me on living here is a friends son (that had been living here and still does) said “Bill you can’t shovel Sunshine’ and a lightbulb went off, if it was not here maybe Southern California, there were job offered great at both places with the company I worked for, I’m glad I moved here, As from living here, I was amazed at the amount of people that were moving here from California (Too expensive I guess) I can remember a long time ago a customer from work, I went to her house to look at her car and she said she wintered in Florida, (I was still in Iowa) she Said “ you pick your poison living in the south, either you run from your air conditioned house to your air conditioned car to your air conditioned job” or “Run from your heated home, to heated car, to heated job if you want to live in one place” it really never hit me till years later what she meant till my Dad was doing the “Snowbird” thing, When we moved here he moved here full time, he passed in late 2017, but had some real good years with him that I otherwise would not of. Years like this summer kind of sucked June was pretty nice, then the heat came and hasn’t left, although next week it appears we may get out of triple digits! With no humidity to really deal with 100 is really quite tolerable, just drink plenty of fluids, 110+ is just hot, in the shade with a breeze is tolerable, but when the low 90’s hit it feels like high 70’s in Iowa, 100 in Iowa with 75% humidity, I’ll take 15-20% humidity anytime.
So I don’t like to run the ac in the garage unless I have to, and this year I did more than I wanted to, but at least my car is to a manageable place, was going to just clean up / detail under the hood, well we all know how that goes, where do you stop! Thoughts were starting to be well it’s not a whole lot more to pull the body off the frame and do the rest of the car, and it came back to me, did that once, didn’t want to drive the car for fear of that rock chip, or taking it anywhere and leaving it sit without eyes on it, someone scratching it.... so on, cleaning under the car, that car (59 Impala) was the same deal but the whole car, every nut and bolt, tons of butt welding, 3 years of work 90% done by me, I had someone rebuild the 348, and the trans, five brothers, 5 brother in-laws and some neighbors to set the body back on my frame (took about 10 minutes 5 were telling them what we were going to be doing, was going to run the wheels off that car, but couldn’t, I put 3777 miles on the car when it left for San Antonio TX. So maybe I’ll be able to run the wheel off this one . Probably a little to much information, but I understand, especially if you are paying someone to the work, it’s why so many cars end up on trailers to shows. Even close shows, I like working on them as much as driving them, but I after doing a ton of work, No comments on a SS427 clone or “tribute” ? Anything? SS427 2.0, come on with some ideas, I will never try and present it as the real deal (Unless I find a real deal dated L72 for 2 of none... lol
Thanks again Steve, it has been a whirlwind the last 6-7 months! Bill Surprise Arizona

Do not apoligize Bill. We need those pictures to keep this site active. My 69 is still a work in progress. I added a vacuum pump and tank to help with the low brake pressure from the solid cam. NICK L72
