Great place to see a race. I saw a couple of races there. I was there the year after the Andretti podium sweep. I was in the bleachers in turn 4, and could see the whole track except when the cars were deep in turn two. They have totally rebuilt the grandstands since then. Very modern. I was there for the state fair for a marching band contest and was able to check out the whole grandstand for the best seats. They were all great seats. Also saw a Indy car race at Elkhorn. We checked out the 'general admission' seats pretty good, and found a good spot that we could see them go by one way and then another. I wonder if they have the big screens now. They haven't raced Indy cars in a while. Iowa looks like a great place to see a race. We have talked about going. We have camped all over Iowa. It's a great state with great people. While I'm at it my two cents......IndyCar sucks. Qualifying for Indy was on a goofy ESPN channel I couldn't get. In the old days it was the show to watch all four days. I couldn't get the Detroit races either. If it wasn't for the Indy 500 they would be out of business. I hope Chicago Jon is doing ok. |
