Apache Richard: what a sad loss for La Manzanilla! Heartfelt condolences to Nena and his children. In the old days I loved going with Apache to his building sites and viewing his marvellous creations - the artist house, the fairy house and the house with the beautiful pool. Like the gazebo in the jardin and the Aztec restaurant, all of Apache's buildings bore his distinct signature. I loved entering the Aztec to see him sitting at the bar, smiling and watching over us all. He and I made a deal at that bar - if I ever came into pots of money one day, he would design for me a most marvellous casa. Now I shall be content with his Valentine hearts adorning our Canadian garden.
