Yes, according to your link (which I see no reasons to disagree with)
"(i.e. how quickly an object rotates or revolves relative to a point or axis)."
Roy - "What about being closer to the poles? Or at the poles?"
From the ChatGPT link
"The speed at which a point on the Earth's surface moves due to the planet's rotation (often referred to as the "rotation speed") varies with latitude. It's greatest at the equator and decreases as you move towards the poles, where it's effectively zero."
Fun stuff IMO, like learning to read maps. (I have had people who want to sell a lot come into my office, when I ask them to show me on the map where it is they are first at a loss having never used a map before. After a bit and a few tips they get it.)
Finally got the answer I was looking for from ChatGPT (near the bottom of the conversation)
"The process can be described as creating a mental model or cognitive map that correlates the abstract, spatial, and symbolic information from the map with the learner's understanding and perception of the physical world. It's a complex process involving multiple cognitive skills, and practice improves the brain's ability to quickly and accurately form these mental models".
The difference being that we are not really seeing a physical map (other than the latitude marks on a globe) we are using words to describe the concept.
