Rose made a very valid plea to stop with the shark hysteria in her support of local businesses which heavily rely on tourism. David, your comments completely ignore the great numbers of Mexican tourists who come here year around to enjoy a day at the beach. Not only has Melaque suffered a significant drop in such visitors but also Cuastacomate, where a friend of mine and frequent swimmer tells me that the beach has been essentially deserted down there.

I have personally noticed many fewer people in the ocean and visiting beach restaurants in LM since the Melaque incident. While the story does not deter frequent swimmers like Rose, it has kept others out of the ocean.

Finally, I found your post unnecessarily snarky and unkind toward Rose. That was, simply, uncalled for.
