I agree it would be terrible for the A-Modified class to die, but the question remains why? What happen to kill this class? Was it HH shutting its doors, the IMCA, UMP, the USRA, X-Mods, the Economy, Napa Speedway, Uranium Capitol Speedway, blown engines, or was it just a weird concoction of all of it? More cars are parked then racing, why? I often wonder if the cost out weighed the return too often, if too often people were tired of being torn up and taken out by people that didn’t belong in the class in the first place. Maybe the track surface at Napa is to blame; Baja long travel was needed for the first few years (and at times still) just to make it around the track. So it would seem that between replacing shocks, wheels, body panels, tires, engines, and the overall attitude that we as a track don’t need you hear has taken its toll. I will agree that perhaps the cheaper X-Mod class with its much more competitive racing has helped reduce car counts as well, but I think the real issue still lies elsewhere…
