They did prove that more than one track operator can foul up a dirt track. Track wet, wet, wet, felt like hours of packing to get a surface fit to race on.
The story of the night was young Haden Foy in his #761. He is a new X Mod driver, but proved he has all the right stuff. He took over the lead early and held off all comers until the white flag lap. The Bonesteels, Steve #00 and JR #0 and #28 of Skimmer Latham were hot on his heals most of the race. A last lap high slide gave JR Bonesteel the opening he had been looking for and took the lead on the back straight to lead the pack to the checkered. Great Job by all X Mod drivers this night.
Well, #49 of Brandon Cauldwell got the main event win in the cruiser class that has slipped out of his hands several times this year. I bet there will be more to follow.
Dirt track racing, still the best show on earth. See you there.
