Best racing all year! After two rain delays, we saw only one caution total in all features, and that was due to a mechanical failure. No wrecks in any class and the crowd was treated to hands down the best xmod main event ever run in New Mexico. 15 xmods checked in and were able to race 3 and 4 wwide throughout the night. Hayden fly took the lead on lap two and led all but one other lap when j.r. Bonesteel took a shot with the white flag in the air. The 0 car made it stick and edged the 761 and his father Steve bonesteel for the win. JR Bonesteel also took home the hard charger $50 prize after starting 9th.
Brandon Caldwell won the cautionless pure stock main over rick Boelter to win his first ever main even in style. Lynette Antonio finished third.
Dan gross took top honors in the street stocks over current point leader George Baisden and a very hungry Scotty Morlang in yet another caution free main event.
Special thanks to the fans and drivers who braved the elements and stuck with us this evening! If you have not been to this track this year, you are honestly missing out. The surface is unbelievable! Most importantly, for the fourth time in as many races, we were done by 1030! This week we finished at ten! It sure has been nice to be home in abq by 1130!
Next weekend we don't all again! Hope to see everyone there!

Since Motiva Motor Speedway was dark we decided to see what UCS had to offer.
They did prove that more than one track operator can foul up a dirt track. Track wet, wet, wet, felt like hours of packing to get a surface fit to race on.
The story of the night was young Haden Foy in his #761. He is a new X Mod driver, but proved he has all the right stuff. He took over the lead early and held off all comers until the white flag lap. The Bonesteels, Steve #00 and JR #0 and #28 of Skimmer Latham were hot on his heals most of the race. A last lap high slide gave JR Bonesteel the opening he had been looking for and took the lead on the back straight to lead the pack to the checkered. Great Job by all X Mod drivers this night.
Well, #49 of Brandon Cauldwell got the main event win in the cruiser class that has slipped out of his hands several times this year. I bet there will be more to follow.
Dirt track racing, still the best show on earth. See you there.
No one can ruin a wet dream like Charlie can, he has the market cornered on that one. I praise any track that can get a race in after that weather. Perfect conditions and Charlie still screws his track up, so you tell me... I am only sad we were not able to make it to UCS Saturday, it is the finest racetrack in Central New Mexico!
Hey Bob, sorry you were not able to make it to grants earlier than you did. Had you been there earlier, you might have noticed that It rained at the track for hours on end. There was only one small load that was dropped on the track earlier and only on the top. The track prep team actually did an amazing job preparing the track, packing it and keeping it smooth all night. No ruts, no holes, and the excess water was from the rain over a 48 hr period. Kudos to the board of directors for not calling the races and to the drivers for voting to pack the track again to make it the most racey track we have seen in a long while. I know you carry a lot of clout and I typically welcome differing opinions, but after talking to drivers in the pits and people in grants all day, the consensus was that the track was amazing, no fault to them for a wet track since a dome was not possible. Like any track, mistakes can easily be made when it come to surface preparation, however, I must respectfully disagree with your comments on a fouled up race track. If anyone doesn't believe me, I challenge you to come back out this coming weekend and see why everyone keeps coming back. No torn up cars, no wrecks, friendly staff, and lots of great side by side racing. This makes four consecutive weeks of racing getting out before ten thirty as well. That being said, thanks for coming out and supporting local dirt tracks, especially this past weekend at UCS. Hope you get to come back out soon.email: tbrewbaker@hotmail.com
One thing to keep in mind UCS dose not have the luxury of having an official "track operator" it's run by a board of directors who are just members of the association. Anyone who is a member can be elected to the board. The Women who take the money are typically racers wife's, the flagmen typically are racers who are not racing. It's a racers track, sure we have our problems but we try hard to provide a great place to race. We may not have the best facilities but we do have the best surface. And we are always trying to improve. Thanks to everyone who has shown their support... UCS 45 years and getting better!
Well honestly I thought we had an awesome participation in getting that track rolled in. We have no control over mother nature we did get a lot of rain. The board decided to leave it up to the drivers whether to try to pack it in again or cancel due to the little bit of rain we got during the heats. Drivers wanted to continue which was a great decision because after it got rolled in, it was actually one of the best looking racing surface we have had so far this season. THANKS to all the drivers, volunteers, fans ect. for making it a good night of racing.
After the rain we had the day off the race and days prior to race day. I must say the track was amazing. Yeah it took a while to get rolled in but that track was the fastest my car had ever been. I'm glad everyone agreed to wait it out and roll it in. Great job to everyone who was there and was helping!!!!PereaRacing#20
Track was awesome! Watching from turn 4 very exciting.. LJ you sure did put on a show till you broke.. Other than that we enjoyed the side by side racing.. Very fast track! Will be back
Usually when a track gets hit with that much moisture... You get a rutty, uneven, track that comes apart . I've never seen a track that smooth after being that muddy. Honestly, I don't know how they do it. Those guys know their stuff. It rolled in perfect. Took an awful lot of time&effort but the features were damn good. Sucks sitting in the stands with a broken hot rod&seeing your friends go hammer down for 20 laps like that. Couple of guys I talked to said they'd NEVER run that hard. There were guys pitching it sideways on the back chute...sprint car style. The X mod feature was a dogfight. Props to those guys for running that hard and nobody ran over anyone. Huge props to Hayden... If not for pushing out of 4, he'd of taken his first win in his "Fitomobile". Kid looked damn good...thought he had it.
