Yes, cutting out sugar and simple carbs makes a noticeable change in your energy and overall well-being. I know this because times when I have gone off my normal eating routine and consumed stuff like that, I feel horrible. Sugar, breads, pasta, white rice, all drag me down and makes me feel bloated and sluggish.
Hopefully your friend will see your progress and how great you are feeling and decide to join you. It's great to have a diet buddy!
