I think all of you know that my dear friend from NJ opened his house for me to stay a few years ago so I can focus on SS while away from my family and all temptation. Well, he's been traveling immensely and with my mom aging and bored at home it wasn't convenient for me to try my temporary escape for a jump start.
Well, about 4 weeks ago my friend was in a terrible car accident coming back from a trip. His friend who was on the passenger's side passed away, his car totaled. It was a hit and run and he's been hospitalized since. He had 26 broken bones on his body to include a broken leg, shoulder and breast bone. He had some procedures done to include a full hip replacenment surgery. His update as of now: He'll be discharged from the hospital Friday and transferred to a rehab where he'll be there for approximately 6-8 weeks depending on his improvements for walking and such.
Two weeks ago, my sister had a tumor removed from her breast and it was taken to be tested to make sure it wasn't serious. It turns out she has breast cancer and is having another surgery on the 20th of this month. She's been with ups and downs and we are all supportive and also feeling her pain. With the technology and advance medication now we are hopeful she will be fine!
My mom has finally agreed to give the senior center a chance. She loves it! The shuttle picks her up at 8:30 and drops her off by 3p Mon-Fri so she's no longer bored.
With all that being said, the good news is I am visiting my friend in NJ the weekend after thanksgiving and only flying one way. I am taking my Cambridge with me. Since he'll be in the rehab, there's no pressure of us having to go out to eat and I'll just drink my shake(s) before and after I visit. I am staying at his house and relieving the dog sitter and should be able to get a jump start like I did before. Since I don't have a return flight yet, I am planning to at least stay 2 weeks, but definitely as long as I am there I'd like to SS as much as possible and it should be a breeze by the time I get back just before Christmas. At least that's the plan.
Well, that's enough venting for now. Please know that I am thinking of all of you and I admire each and everyone's determination to always try and not quit.
Have a wonderful day!
