It is inevitable that your husband will steer you back into the ways that making *him* feel comfortable. I was just like you. You say you could have "spoke up" but in truth, that doesn't happen for any of us.

Try to stay focused and do the best you can during these days up to Thanksgiving. I know it is hard for all of us. But, you are a strong woman, as am I, and we can do this.
