Good morning to everyone who is reading this post or who is questioning the wisdom of posting every day.
Well, it IS a Support Board and I know for me it is part of being accountable to me and to the Cambridge program. It's like journaling. I have been on this Board since 2005. I have lost a heck of a lot of weight only to gain it back because of lack of vigilance. I am not flagellating myself. It's just a fact——weight loss without vigilance is weight GAIN.
Anyway, I'm off to another challenge. I am going to try to finish my planting today.
How did it go? We have some heavy rain heading our way so we were out most of the day getting our yard work done in time. Also, our pool pump has been broken and it was a green swamp. We got that on the road to recovery too. Did you get your planting done? How do you manage that with your knee and ankle issues?
I am out of Cambridge. I've never been out! lol! I asked Janet at the office if I could forgo placing my required order this month ( we are required to place a personal order of at least $100 to qualify for our bonus check) so I was not taking inventory that could go to a customer. She agreed. Last month I sent my order to my son in MD because he really wanted to get some weight off, and now this month...no order at all. I do believe this is the first time in 17 years that I have had absolutely no Cambridge anywhere in my house And I'm feeling bloated too
I am so sorry to hear about your pool and your total "cupboard bare" Cambridge.
These past couple of days have been very interesting for me, though.
Bad knees and all, I planted my tomatoes, sweet basil and cucumbers in 100-degree weather on Friday. Then Saturday came and it was SO COLD, the temperature dropped about 40 degrees in one day. By Sunday, I was coughing and sneezing with body aches and GI issues (if you know what I mean). I felt (and still do feel) horrible. I have been taking Alka Seltzer plus, honey and penicillin for my sore throat and an antibiotic to ward off any secondary infection. I feel like a truck has run over me. Mucus is everywhere in my body and I can't keep up with the tissues. I'm a mess!! However, sick and all, I drove down to my parents' final resting place and put some peonies at their gravesite. The peonies came from my garden. The Boy Scouts did a great job putting flags at each veteran's gravesite. God Bless the Boy Scouts!!
My husband told me that because I have been on this "diet", I'm in a weakened state and that is the reason why I contracted this flu/cold. I don't believe him. He's always trying to undermine my Cambridge journey.
Anyway, Memorial Day I was SICK, SICK, SICK!! My husband force-fed me some potato salad and a frankfurter (I only ate half). I told him I couldn't eat another bite because my throat hurt so badly. He backed off then. But, his widdle eyes looked like a puppy dog when he saw me all wrapped up in the blankets and coughing my lungs out. From his point of view, I couldn't blame him for his reaction. But, I say, "starve a cold, feed a fever."
Today,I am feeling a little bit better but still coughing and congested. I just remembered that we have a sauna (I never use). So I spent 20 minutes in the "Hot Box" and felt less congested.
I hope you get your Cambridge soon. Remember, there is always fasting until the "calvary" arrives.

Well you've had quit a time of it! I'm so sorry. This virus you are dealing with has been going around. It's actually 2, the GI and the upper respiratory. It's been hitting people BAD all over the country. There's a lot of coughing to the point of having trouble breathing and some strep that is landing folks in the ER. We had the GI bug and that was lots of fun.
I think it's funny that your husband tried to connect the dots and blamed Cambridge. Considering that the entire country has been dealing with this the past few weeks, and I'm pretty sure they are not all on Cambridge, this is just an unavoidably miserable time for those that are getting hit. In my opinion, Cambridge has always been the best thing to be consuming while sick. It's the first thing I reach for in fact.
I've been making a point to try and avoid public places, especially restaurants and fast food places (works for ssing!) as well as grocery stores and anywhere you are going to be touching what others have recently been touching before you. I am a fanatic at scrubbing down a shopping cart before I start pushing! Andy, being a country boy, has had to adapt to my ways, lol! He was sick constantly while he was working at Walmart. I kept telling him it was those darn shopping carts! He now is the first to grab the disinfecting wipes.
I do hope you have a speedy recovery. The GI stuff only lasted about 3 days.
