Brand New Here Posted by Denise on 8/23/2018, 5:51 am I have been sitting here reading all of the posts and wondering why am I up at 4:45 am... Not for long, headed back to bed. 5 days gone headed into my 6th day.......... Talk about inner struggles. I am committed but my body is on a rebellious trip that is wearing me out. Just say NO.. 45 lbs to lose. No set date but I would like to be down 20 or so middle of October. Our anniversary is that week and we are headed to BellaVista Arkansas for all the craft fairs. I LOVE being in Arkansas in the fall......... Beautiful!

I am a veteran on this Board and I can tell you that Cambridge is the answer to all of this food addiction from which we suffer in this country. You just have to be willing to follow the program and make food a peripheral, rather than a central, thought and activity. I have lost 50 pounds with Cambridge but when I veered off the path, I gained it back. When you get there, one must be vigilant that's all. Good luck and best wishes on your upcoming wedding anniversay in October.

Yes, the internal struggle is real, but you will win this battle AND the war! When it comes to making a change like this, it is truly like that old image of having an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. We have gotten used to listening to the the wrong one when it comes to making health choices. Time to flick that guy off and turn to the positive changes that will bring us good health and happiness.

I am chewing gum like it is life or death! OMG. I will not do this again. We meet my brother every Thursday at Taco Bell. Next week I will bring a shake!!!!! Pray for me! 😝

Mainly because of the way it makes my car smell! lol! It takes forever to get it to go away. You could order a diet soda to sip on while they are eating. That might help. As far as mixing and taking one with you, the shakes don't keep well once they are mixed. The coating on the vitamins and minerals starts to wear off and you may taste them.Kinda yucky! But you certainly can shake one up there if you bring the powder and the water separate.

OMG will not do that again.. I will drink my shake on the way there and be full..... My brother left half a supreme taco on his plate and it was just God that kept me from grabbing that and eating it in ONE gulp! hahahahah I was so proud of my self.. Got home and had a shake and I did eat a bite of food tonight about 3 oz's of Stewed chicken from the crock pot. Nothing in it just a couple of chicken breast and salt.I Weighted it on my scale and it was 3.2 oz"s..... so I think I survived Taco Bell..

I have very clear memories of feeling the exact same way on more then one (or 20!) occasions as I was losing. Those emotions eventually become defused and silenced. But at times, it literally felt like I was walking the gauntlet! I found this image several years ago that really reminded me of how it felt sometimes trying to remain focused on my goal, while everyone and everything around me seemed to have something to say or do to trip me up or discourage me.

YES that is how I felt but in the place of people it was Taco Supremes and The Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch Box and the Nacho Fries! OMG I need to stop now. Making me hungry. Anyway I made it but not something I want to do again. Meeting my brother and his wife again today but in the park where I will walk while they eat their fried chicken! Beautiful park with natural streams. Great place to clear the mind. (Away from the chicken of course )
