Day7 Down 8 Posted by MaryL on 1/7/2019, 11:58 am Hello. It is Day 7. I am happy to announce the loss of eight pounds. As in the past I like to weight myself daily the first week and document it in my journal . My plan is after a week or 2 the weigh ins are few and far between as in maybe once per month. I understand there are some who don't believe in the weighins but I really think it helps me to stay on track. As soon as I put the scale away it's like "whose watching, whose gonna know, and I can eat what I want..." That seems to be my pattern and it has to stop. Air Fryer FFL Oats Cookie is my breakfast. All *I* know is that when I weighed myself after a few months on Cambridge, I was elated. However, those low numbers just wouldn't go away from my brain and I started not to adhere to the prescribed Cambridge program that I had outlined for myself when I started the latest journey at the end of August. Sputtering, stopping, starting and not getting anywhere. I hope that those EIGHT POUNDS are gone forever!! Congratulations! Whatever happens, MaryL, just keep going!!

By the spring you will emerge as a beautiful butterfly. am sorry that the scale has a negative impact for you. As soon as I put the scale away a part of me thinks my efforts do not matter, I am being held accountable to no one and then I am more prone to go completely off the rails. It happens time and time again! It doesn't take much to throw me off track as I have no confidence and no faith in my ability to successfully lose weight.

One day when you see the changes in your body, the confidence and increased self-esteem will come! Until then, just keep going. Each one of us is different and I applaud our uniqueness.

Have faith in the "New Normal" Posted by Pam T on 1/14/2019, 12:51 pm, in reply to "One day you shall " We need to keep reminding ourselves that obesity is not our destiny. It is only the current condition of our body. Believing we can change is a lot more important then we give it credit. There is a "new normal" waiting out there for each of you. It is where you feel stable and strong in your commitment to your health and maintaining your weight. Looking back, I feel 100% disconnected with obese me. Like it was someone else's life.

I know there have been many debates over the years on this board about weighing. Everyone has differing opinions on it based on their own experiences and the struggles they have had. It comes from a desire to spare others from stumbling over those same obstacles so it comes from a good place. But we're all different and weighing in is one of those decisions we each make for ourselves. For those that know it will mess with their heads, they can avoid the scale and just power through. Others need that daily ritual to keep their head on track. I've been both over the years as I've maintained. Sometimes I just go about my business until my clothes fit right again. Other times I've been a morning ritual weigh-inner with BP, Blood sugars, and charted everything! lol! Being in tune with our personal needs as we progress and adapting as they change is the way to go.
