Just an update for today. After 7 days in I am now down 15.8 pounds. From my maintaining/losing weight experiments on the way down I have learned it's possible (at least for me) during the day to have a couple large, stomach filling salads with ranch and a couple cans of soup and even a couple 12 oz cans of tuna fish in water and still lose weight (pound a day). With those I am also drinking anywhere from a gallon to a gallon and a half of water every day. Not really sure why that 8 oz of steak per day only was causing a weight gain. That's not logical since it's only about 500 calories. Does not make any sense.
I'm not a nutritionist, per se, but the steak has a lot more "substance" than the tuna.
I was told that one should drink one-half of their bodyweight in ounces. I am reluctant to do that because I would need a Foley catheter inserted in order to function because I would be going to the bathroom every five minutes.
Thanks to you, I will re-dedicate myself to this sole source for the remainder of the month and see how it goes. I know I can do it, but sometimes I just don't WANT to do it. That's my problem. However, knowing that you are still out there, I can focus on my goal. Age quod Agis!!
Yes, that works out to 133 to 200 oz of water per day I am now drinking. Yes, I do go to the bathroom a lot now. Gotten used to it. Sometimes wake up 2-3 times at night but since I can fall asleep on concrete in a couple minutes I am back in dreamland instantly.
I was going to make a “funny” in response to your waking up in the middle of the night and being able to go back to sleep immediately after drinking so much water (wet dream). However, that may be inappropriate.
Anyway, your kidneys are functioning well and you’re not dehydrated, which is a good thing. Dehydration causes folks to eat.
Hi Yvonne, I'm still here. Doing my mad scientist experimenting on my way down to 185. Learning a lot this last month on what will cause my weight to go up and what will maintain it and what will cause it to drop. The 8 oz steak experiment really shocked me. All good here. Went back into SS 6 days ago and now down 13 pounds. Again my guess it's mainly water. The experimenting seems to have helped me a lot on what to expect and what will be required when I hit 180-185. In my experience at least, the weight will go on a lot faster than it will come off. I suppose everyone's metabolism is different. Again, once in ketosis I have zero desire for food. No cravings whatsoever.
