maybe the excessive need for privacy stems from some subconscious need to hide that you're vulnerable (which you are at the time you're sitting on the toilet) as well as perhaps a deep-seated animal instinct to cover up your tracks in order to avoid being found and therefore increasing your chances of survival (like some species pawing earth over their no. 2s).. anyway sorry for rambling on..just lots of stuff going through my mind..which it would if you spent years avoiding some issue and accepting that you might indeed have some phobia
if anyone watched 'red dwarf', there's a scene where the cat is in pain cause he's eaten too much and he says to lister and rimmer 'i gotta go and do something secret'..
then i thought that cats do generally prefer privacy for their business (maybe i was a cat in a former life?)
