Was just wondering if you have had any luck finding ways to deal with this as an adult. Like you, I hated maths, but was always top of the class in English and, when I won a scholarship to study in the US, my GPA was 3.8. So people couldn't understand why I chronically late and could get lost walking down a straight road. I have recently been diagnosed with dyscalculia. It feels like a huge relief, in many ways, as I finally have some explanation for the things that used to leave me feeling so frustrated and stupid. But now I need to know if there is any way to help myself. I have been employed as a trainee auditor by the Audit Commission (a prestigious and highly competative position in the UK) but, as part of my contract, I have to become a qualified accountant. Needless to say, I am having a nightmare of a time - it was because of my difficulties at college that I was finally diagnosed - and I need to get through this or I will lose my job. Any advise - other than get a different career! - would be gratefully received. Many thanks, Natalie.
