The snapper was on a decent cast, virtually as far as I can cast, I wouldn't know exactly how far that is, but its a wee way. The bait was crayfish. The gurnard were much closer. Mine come off a dud cast and a floating anchovie as did chris's. Give it a few more days, they will be in closer thats for sure. As far as ya long line goes, fresh strips of kahawai is hard to beat, YEM is a pretty rank bait off the beach. I have thrown dozens of the buggers out for very little return. maybe one or two snapper at mohaka, and a few kahawai. They are a great live bait though. In saying that, 12 is not a bad number of gurnard ether. Good stuff ![]() |
